They had $42k in judgements (major medical issues) & were facing an immediate Tax Lien foreclosure over $6k in property tax & water arrears.

Ask the bank if there's some kind of "memo" field they can fill in when they take the deposit, and that will show up on your statements.

I am typically not a big fan of college any more, because I think in most cases people leave college with massive debt a mediocre job and generally not in the same field.
