After telling a few friends and relatives in the local area that I would be interested in selling the house I heard back from one prospective buyer who is interested in the house to fix up--it needs about $2k of work to get it up to a decent level--and then sell or rent-to-own to an interested party.

What they dont realize is its the FED buying and propping up the entire world.Real Estate has not really budged much in price [in most areas and it takes a long time to move the needle], its in a suspended animation phase, after a couple of months its either going to break out and get back to somewhat normal [like the rest of the world] or its going to crash downwards through to a level we have never seen.

The average sales price in the area is usually 850k-1m+ (~2000 sqft split levels/high ranches going in this range, our house is a 2600 sqft colonial)We are now confused if we should wait for the house to clear title or back out due to the potential wreckage covid19 may cause in the housing market.

It took me a long time to find a contractor who would give me a bid that was at the level of detail that I felt comfortable with, and the more they worked on the bid the higher the price rose...By the time the contractor's bid was finished, the rehab was going to be just under $100,000.
