I'm just beginning to educate myself by listening to Podcasts (BP of course), attending investor Meetups, and using the vast wealth of information here.

I am a software engineer and  seeing that's what I attended college for that's the industry I've been employed in for the past 30 years. 

Besides that a $100 negotiating class once over a weekend and I've attended two of Sean Terry's flip 2 freedom events that ran $100 each.

Sunday is my 'Driving for Dollars' day after attending church, but today is just too cold!  

There is a solid group of local Bay Area BPers on the site (and I would definitely recommend attending one of the local meet ups if you can).

I don't go myself but I have been to a few and they are nicely attended and quality presentations with no pitching .

I'm also a fan of Robert Kiyosaki (although, NEVER pay to attend any workshop branded with his name... you could save time tossing $20s in to a fire).Another book I like to recommend to buy and hold investors is "What Every Landlord Needs to Know" by Richard Jorgensen.
