Huge difference in lifestyle and investment opportunities/markets between South Florida (Jupiter/West Palm Beach and south to Miami and the Keys), Central Florida (Orlando), North East (Jacksonville, Saint Augustine), Panhandle (Gold Coast, Destin, Fort Walton Beach), West Coast (Tampa/Clearwater), I'm sure I'm leaving some other areas out but those are just where I've passed through in my time…There are a lot of people here on BP that both live and/or invest in FL so be sure to search the forums and seek them out.  

You can't learn to swim if you aren't in the water, so here we go.I became a landlord "by accident" when we outgrew (and were unable to sell for the amount we needed) our far West Chicago Suburban duplex on our journey to the far South Suburbs of Chicago. 

So TK operators by and large just could not do this as they have to pay there WEst coast marketing folks and or national marketing folks  then there over head and such.. so they need to make there profit on the sale.I did do just this as you state and bought 350 SFR's and it went very well and we sold and liquidated to some very nice results.

I am looking for information on the area in west Houston bordered by the 69 on the East and southSam Houston Parkway on the WestThe 10 on the North.I can narrow it down if you PM me.I am trying get another opinion(besides my broker) of a few neighborhoods in this area. 

My questions are these: When seeking a broker to hang my license with should I attempt to hang it with a broker that can also function as an investment mentor, or will hanging it with a standard broker like West USA Realty be enough to get started again?
