My understanding of a self-directed retirement account, though, will make it so that the income from the rental will have to go back into the account and we cannot use it as passive income for our normal personal expenses.

Any debt instrument such as a mortgage must be non-recourse, meaning no personal guarantee from you.There are a handful of banks that do this kind of lending.

Beware with dealing with this person..He is a thief...goes by various names John, Jack, Osh, Cavalari Common..etc..takes your money and then uses it for other purposes..I have a case opened on him at the Nevada State Contractors Board.

Also if i am able to do that, what if eventually the tenant wants to exercise their option to buy, will they pay me in full and then i pay the person i leased from??
