As far as property managers go there are several to choose from in Memphis but two that I know and recommend would be Douglas Skipworth or Alex Craig they are both the real deal investors in Memphis and own property management companies!

I will second @Ned Carey and say that short of an Ivy League real estate MBA the CCIM program is the best education available and much less expensive though it's not cheap.
