I feel comfortable about the location/price however am concerned about the general contractor part of things.

Perhaps a nice 1950's built bungalow.Always hire a 3rd party property inspector to give you an unbiased feel for the home.

At this point it starts to feel like I am dealing with an automated system.

I work for a large GC right now and I feel like I have the experience to manage some sub-contractors myself.5. read that book asap!

I talked to one broker and 1 bank so far and they both feel there is going to be a problem finding comps to give me the financing for it. 

I'm sure there are good agents there, but I do not feel good about the company.

How would a bank feel about that?
