You are probably looking at an interest rate north of 6%, even if you have 20% down.

It just depends on where you want to buy.My best advice would be to look at maps of the Metro North, Long Island Railroad and New Jersey Transit and starting looking at towns on the train line that go into Manhattan.  

This home will also be my first rental property when I move to North Carolina in about 6 months to a year.
