A lot of big cities have decent jobs growth but also have regularly increasing cost of living, which means there may be more people but they have less money than those earning the same salaries in secondary markets.

You might find a private lender, hard money lender or commercial lender to lend to you, but they are likely going to want collateral beyond just the property being mortgaged.  

The title company should be handling everything for you in regards to notifying the seller and making sure the money is collected and paid.
