I always like to point out on these threads that there is a whole other side of the Rockies that gets somewhat ignored... beautiful places and better weather!

When I find an area I like (ie. beautiful land in a fairly undeveloped area), I will go to the county’s tax website and click on the properties in that area and look for delinquent property taxes.

Here are my 2 stories:Story 1-  Saw this beautiful and inexpensive house listed in an OK neighborhood. 

The property is a well-maintained building near downtown in our rural Wisconsin community, split into two spaces with one commercial tenant (beauty salon) and one residential tenant (un-related to the commercial tenant), each on month-to-month leases.  

I mean checks out beautifully as I was reading the list until the Pitbulls 😬😬😬 

In other areas of beautiful and cheap land, there are groundwater contamination zones in certain places due to chemicals used in the 70s and before on golf courses and nurseries.
