This year I'm looking at doing a self storage facility and am currently trying to find a software that can handle my regular rentals as well as the storage facility.

However I don't think this is likely as I'll have neither a credit score or history of income (either in the US or in the UK) and don't have enough cash to purchase somewhere outright and doubt I'd qualify for a regular residential mortgage.

@Josh GreenActually you could reach out to a commercial broker and see if they have a recommendation as well they are more likely to know one than a regular agent.

The next step would be to regularly scan these areas for anything that looks interesting.....and I have seen so many properties before that I can tell if it is worth while or not.

I want to claim the condo as my primary residence and keep current residence as a second/vacation home.

One last question...I saw a thread on another forum where someone claimed that you can 1031 into a rental property but after ONE YEAR use it as your personal residence.
