I can't imagine what a nuisance this is for the neighbors and other tenants in the house (let alone how stupidly expensive it is to run).

I then bought the attached building 2011 in a private sale from my neighbor.

The one I mentioned before was sitting since 2009, the county finally sued them because the next door neighbor complained.

Typical mentality of a state college level student.The only part worse than dealing the the students was dealing with the neighbors who complained about noise, the fire department responding to a burning couch in the back yard and the police for all kinds of nonsense including drunk idiots standing on the roof.

Never do business with neighbors or friends .  

However, when we bought the house we have a neighbor that we were told was 7-8 years behind on their mortgage.

The neighbor stated she had not seen anyone for quite a while.

One thing I found is the units in Wake County have a lot higher price point that neighboring counties like Durham and Johnston.
