They are small, have a small foot print and will be no where near as expensive as running gas to the units.

If it is not a major expense/issue, run the gas to the home in my opinion.

I suspect a lot of BP members are too young to have been buying a car in the 70s.. but it was not uncommon to buy a new buick and within 30 days have 17 things wrong with it.. or like when they tried to convert gas to diesel engines and those things blew up in 10k miles..

Utility bills for construction purposes and gas to get to the site may also be capitalized into the cost of the property — again, it comes down to solid record keeping.Bottom line: you probably won’t be writing off a ton on your 2024 return, but it’s 100% worth tracking every dollar spent now.

@David De La Torre it is common for electric and gas to be turned off when a tenant moves in, forcing them to turn it on in their name.

If it's going to be a bonus space for your rental, or you want to keep a very unique and vintage vibe going, and it's not operational (say it's a gas fireplace and you cut off the gas to it) then it could stay.
