Thats the same route that I am thinking of taking, I'm just getting impatient with my current living situation. 

its like going from PDX to Lincoln city or Seaside on a holiday weekend it can take hours to get through the first traffic lights.. first time I tried to go to lincoln city and the traffic stopped 20 miles from town I just turned around and went back home.. :)  not sure how it is your way with going to newport etc.. probably not as bad since the population is a fraction of PDX metro.
