Hi All,

I've been trying to find a qualified CPA for California that is an expert in RE. It seems whenever I have an initial scoping call with one company that call goes well and then I find a series of reviews that are alarming and negative and keep me from moving forward. Obviously, reviews live on the internet for a long time and may no longer be relevant. Does anyone have any solid recommendations for CPA's in California that are experts in REI?

Thanks,

liz

@Elizabeth Seiferth One of the most important things you can do is look at the past social media posts of a CPA you are considering and look at the content as well as the other professionals interacting and replying to what they have to say.

If they are adding value with their messages and other professionals are concurring with what they have to say, that can indicate the level of service they will bring to you as their client in most instances.

Speaking as a CPA who lives in the Midwest but works with clients nationally, I can definitely say that the physical location of your CPA has minimal bearing over their jurisdictional knowledge.  I recommend to most people that are looking for a CPA to consider searching nationally for someone who they can meet with remotely so that you are not limited to a talent pool that is within your local area.

High-quality tax advice can be hard to come by these days!  Especially in the real estate niche where lots of half-baked advice is circulated regularly.
