Paint, Cabinets & Flooring

Posted

Hello! We are updating our longterm rental. It's been rented for a year and a half and needs repainted. The cabinets are currently a really dark wood color and the upstairs flooring is dark brown carpet. We're planning on painting the cabinets and updating the flooring. I'm looking for suggestions on paint colors for the walls and cabinets and whether to keep carpet or switch to laminate. TIA!

For a fresh and inviting look, consider painting the walls a soft, neutral color like a warm beige or a light gray. These shades can create a bright and airy atmosphere and will complement a variety of furniture styles and decor.

For the cabinets, a classic white or a soft cream can provide a clean, timeless appeal. If you prefer a touch of color, a muted sage green or a soft blue could add a refreshing pop without overwhelming the space.

As for the flooring, switching to laminate can be a great choice, especially if you're looking for durability and easy maintenance. Laminate flooring comes in a variety of styles and can mimic the look of hardwood, which can add elegance and continuity throughout the home. A medium-toned wood finish can balance the light walls and cabinets beautifully, creating a cohesive and modern look.

Remember to consider the overall style and feel you want for the space, and choose colors and materials that reflect that vision. Good luck with your updates!
