  1. Daniel Ryu

I’ve seen Grant on Youtube a couple of times. He’s full of energy and definitely a motivational speaker. Looking forward to seeing what he has to say on the pod. I like his 10x strategy and I think about it whenever I set goals!

  2. Daniel Ryu

I like that too.. What makes me curious is that it’s not the usual tenor of most speakers on the pod! And of course, BP describing it as one of the most ‘inappropriate’…

Looking forward to listening to it this weekend when I have more time. Curious to also hear what others thought. How do Brandon and Josh handle the 10x Man??

  3. Mike Hicks

Everybody I talk to that wants to do something with their life, I always either recommend or let them borrow my copy of 10x rule. Seriously one of the best books I’ve read in terms of motivating me to be successful. One of my favorite podcasts so far.

  4. christian alcaraz

Who is this guy! I don’t know if I love him or hate him. But man!!! He got some real good material!
Really like this guy because one, he gets you motivated, and two, FINALLY BIGGER POCKETS HAS SOMEONE DIFFERENT! Not the same thing over and over. And with all due respect, this guy has a gorgeous wife!

  5. William Newman

I’m not even done listening to this podcast yet, but I had to chime in… THIS IS THE BEST PODCAST EVER! Until Podcast 200, that’s my show….

What is the matter with people? Everyone is so happy with mediocrity. Middle finger to your HAPPY shhh!!!! Get out here and get on your grind America!!!!! Get your billions back!!! And you don’t have to wait on the “Block” for it!

  6. Jerred Morris

I love the comments about the business plan. I’ve owned/sold 3 companies and never had a business plan starting out, never had an LLC in the beginning stages, never had a CPA or a legal team. I just went out and sold stuff. The rest takes care of itself.

  7. Jonathan Makovsky

Grant was amazing! I really enjoyed the change-up in the podcast. @Joshua Dorkin @Brandon Turner you guys crushed it on all accounts!
The fact that he has a $350M portfolio with no equity partners totally blew my mind. It is also in addition to his other 3 businesses. I have a ton of respect for Grant and what he accomplished – absolutely amazing. I need to 10x my goals fast.
Personally, my life is as much about the journey as it is about the destination, and I’m not looking to change that. But when you’re as goal oriented as Grant I totally get where he is coming from.

  8. Jeremy Ferguson

Grant, great podcast. Your energy is fantastic, I admire it very much and love the mentality of pushing forward at all times to achieve your potential.

I just went and educated myself a little further about your accomplishments and ..Scientology? Really???

  9. Wilson Churchill

Don’t go to college if you want to study Communism or Anti-White, Minority Women’s Studies with a minor in Underwater Basket-Weaving. A solid “classical” education in a STEM field has value, not only for a specific job, but in terms of learning a variety of quantitative skills and learning critical thinking. Accounting, though not a STEM degree, is useful for understanding your business from a bird’s-eye view. Often, it is those that don’t value education that bash it. I would definitely agree with the idea that public schools are trash, though.

  10. Dennis S.

wow!!! that was power packed – enjoyed the exchange between the three of you and Grant’s straight talk. I wish we can get another session of podcast with him to get more details and tactical approach to finding properties, evaluation, loans etc… Great job guys – love it.

  11. John Soforic

Did anybody catch the part when he said he was getting 12 percent on his money in real estate? And then he alluded to interest only loans on one deal… Does he main he was getting 12% on these apartment deals on his own cash after debt obligation? I didn’t recall him clarifying this point, and I usually hear Josh and Brandon jump all over this type of detail.

    • george p.

yes, i noticed. also noticed how his #1 objective was name recognition. he started with that, mentioned it multiple times and ended with that. I am shocked that josh and brandon did not question him thoroughly about his actual deals. they gave him 20mph soft balls the whole 1.5 hrs. but that’s this guy’s modus operandi – quick to learn a topic and act like he knows everything about that topic, which veers back to general BS that will make you like him.

At one point he said “i know nothing about this business”. but he is a quick learner and a great talker, so essentially “smoke and mirrors”. his knowledge is “5 miles wide, but 1″ deep”.

i loved the part where he said “i buy properties that generate immediate cash flow”. ha! who doesn’t? sheesh, i am one negative “Cat” with self esteem issues! lol

  12. george p.

hmm, so what did we learn here? let’s go through this together.

    0. wants everyone to know his name, that’s why he is on the show. i bet he contacted the hosts.
    1. this guy talks a lot. in fact, he loves to hear himself talk
    2. has lots of money, but did not divulge any information with respect to real estate
    3. hates diversification, yet has multiple companies/business
    4. buying a jet, can’t stop talking about it
    5. likes markets where it’s hard to get a building permit.

    what else?

oh yeah, for anyone making “negative comments”, he has a response – “it’s on you, cat! dont be hating on me cause of your short comings”. This, btw, is talking and acting like a 18 yo.

the whole time i listened to this guy (what’s his name again? Ha!), i could not stop shaking my head. It’s hard to believe that so many people like him/his style and buy his books. Just stroll over to amazon and see some of his negative reviews.

Do you want to learn how to burn bridges? Yeah??? Act like this guy and you will succeed very fast.

    • Jason Miller

I will concur with exactly what you said. Despite this fault I have been asking myself at every turn the last two weeks, how can I do more?

I can’t remember a thing of Rich Dad Poor Dad, but it got me down the path. I see this podcast as no different. Take the nuggets and disregard the crap.

    • Katherine Thorndike

Thank you George. I love Bigger Pockets but am very disappointed in the reaction of the hosts to this guy. (I am trying very hard not to call anyone names) Anyway, I have watched 1/2 of the podcast so far and am not sure I can stomach the second half. Grant is so the opposite of what I want to have in my life. I heard nothing about making the world a better place but I did hear about “putting the rents up” and all about his gas guzzling plane. Sickening. Yes, there are plenty of times that rents need to be raised but I don’t do it without thinking of the burden on the tentents. I “green” build and renovate whenever possible thinking of reducing energy costs. I would be ashamed to fly on a plane by myself and laugh about it. Grant is one of those people who don’t make the world a better place. And as for saying it is me not him? Sorry but your actions affect my world so I won’t just keep quiet about it. Grant disgusts me.
And the hosts? Shame on you for agreeing and kissing up to Grant. Just because the guy has a lot of money doesn’t mean you should laugh and agree with all he says. Do you really think his way of life is something to live up to? I certainly don’t. I have plenty of money and security but don’t believe wanting more and more is the best way to live.

      • Christopher Smith

Way way too much shtick dog. Might be better if they got to the essential substantive points instead of the endless Bob & Tom comedy show routine. Kind of hoping I would be getting away from the pep rally marketing gig when I joined this group. Hope this is not standard fare.

      • Cassandra Carter

Right he makes fun of Democrats but then says they are the best market to have rental properties with, and if you don’t like the fact that he just offended his market base (Democrats), so be it, that’s on you. Wow glad to see he’s a man of integrity.

  13. CJ Snyder

He packed a whole lot of information & motivation in there…….You just got to go out there & make it happen. You don’t need all the answers on how to get to where you want to go. Just need to know where you want to go & start going it. It will all fall into place……. Those saying it can’t be done, should get out of the way of those doing it. – Chinese Proverb

First Podcast and it was Great. Looking forward to selling my one family home and finally investing on a multi family unit. I need to start small but will aim higher. Thank you Grant. Will look for more of your material and educated myself more. Knowledge is power.

  16. Sharon Tzib

I honestly had never hear of Grant Cardone until Ben’s post about him, but I have to say…I’ve listened to a lot of BP podcasts, and this had me lmfao!! Say what you want about him, but he is down right funny, and he puts life into a unique perspective that a lot of us don’t want to hear. I never got a college degree, I’ve never written a business plan, and I’m gonna go rip my rear view mirror off right now!

Yes, most of us have a filter – but should we???? Nice show BP!

  17. Antwan Miller

WOW! Grant Cardone is awesome. This is the type of real estate I would like to invest in and Grant Cardone just confirm why I want to invest in Apartment complex. I will learn as much as I can to start investing in Multi-Family unit Apartment.

Thanks for the information Grant Cardone.
    Great interview Josh and Brandon.

  18. John Hickey

Great podcast. I loved the part where he said you have to know you made money the day you closed. The no filter part was great too. He said he loves to buy in heavily Democrat or Liberal areas because building new construction is more difficult and so rents and occupancy rates are higher, that is just so true for me.

  19. Jon H.

Great podcast, eye opening goal setting techniques! Its great to hear from Grant’s $350 million dollar perspective. Particularly that he’s still looking to greater heights. I’m goin for my full potential! Life is so much more meaningful and deeper than the money, I feel that he made that pretty clear. Great tweetable topics. Thanks Josh, Brandon, and Grant… It made a difference.

  20. Matthew Jones

After I finished listening to this I promptly listened to it again. Then I listened to it with my mom. Then with my mom and wife. When my kids get older I will make them listen to this too. Thank you all for your time and insights.

  21. Debra Muth

I just listened to this podcast and all I can say is WOW! This was motivating! I also own 4 businesses and from time to time get down about being busy and working so hard. But today I listened and was motivated again! I have been looking at investing in real estate for a few years and just have been the one who made excuses why I can’t do it. I have been stupid this gave me the guts to get going and just take a chance.

  22. murat refik

I have only recently come across Grant Cordone, in fact, less then two weeks and counting. What can I say about this guy, I am hocked, he is exceptional, always adds tons of high value content daily, a man who over commits and over delivers. I am someone who strives for excellence in every aspect of my live, continually improving, and his 10xing everything has opened my eyes in they way not only thinking on a whole new level abundantly, but how it doesn’t take money to dominate your space, it takes time and effort, as the real enemy is obscurity.

  23. Adam Schroeter

So as Mr. Cardone says, if you can make half of the country hate you, you can be president. How true that seems to be. Foreshadowing? I was going over my favorite pod casts and that strangely stuck a note.

Great show. Now to 10X those goals.

  24. Frank Sanchez

I’ll take a pass on motivational speakers. This make me feel good approach helps some, but I’m more pragmatical. Also, I lost all interest after he said he doesn’t believe in diversification.

That was a short podcast for me!

  25. Nathan G.

This entire thing struck me as a used car salesman pitch. Maybe he’s a real expert in real estate but this podcast didn’t show it and it didn’t teach me anything. Some people are really successful at selling themselves and that seems to be his mode of operation. There’s nothing wrong with that; it’s just not for me.
