being very new to a 1031exchange... Can a mobile home/manufactured home to be placed on property I already own be purchased on a 1031exchange? The property is investment property and already has an existing home on it. The property is about an acre. I plan to subdivide the land to create two separate properties each with a home. Can 1031,exchange be used for costs incrued with the subdivision of the land?

Does the exchange property have to be equal value? What if it's less?

Your 1031 intermediary should know the answer. Pose that question to the intermediary you are considering.
