When filing taxes with multiple LLC's, I am assuming each entity requires a return. Does each LLC require a FEIN or can it be filed under the owner's SS# ?
First, this is a question for your CPA. If you have multiple LLCs, you definitely have enough assets and tax issues that you need a CPA.
Unless you've elected otherwise, LLCs are pass through entities for taxes. If these are single member LLCs, they won't need returns. Everything just goes onto your personal return. Your CPA can get everything in the correct spot.
If they're multi-member LLCs, then a partnership return will be required for each one. These returns will distribute profits, losses, and expenses to the individual members.
LLCs also get dinged an annual fee from your state, as well as a fee from your attorney if you choose to have one act as your registered agent.
