House hacking a 3 bed 3 bath condo, next to my university

Hi everyone,

Ive been listening to bigger-pockets since I was 16 and want to become an investor (on the side, as I am in school getting prerequisites for medical school). I am currently renting from another college student who is doing the same thing I plan on doing. I am working full time at the hospital and thinking about picking up weekend shifts to make more in order to pay off some debt and build a fund for the downpayment/ fix up money or emergency fund. Im not worried about the work load (working MWF, Sat and Sun, school T,TH). I am looking for information on loans and taking out a mortgage. In my area, I could rent out each room for 900 so 1800 from the renters and I could cover the rest if it was higher than that.

@Antonio Jimenez I would probably not recommend going with Chase for an FHA loan. I would seek out a bank that specializes them. They are not traditional and if you end up with an individual lender that has not done one before, there is unfortunately an unreasonably high probability they won't get it done in time.

Just do a Google search of credit unions and local / regional banks in your city. You should get a ton of great results. Just start calling some.

Good luck!
