Paying Yourself as Investor

Account Closed
Posted

Good morning! I am about as new as new can get. I've read some of the BiggerPockets books and listened to the podcast but do not have any properties (yet). One of my biggest questions is when investors pay themselves. I know most of the investors I follow use the BRRRR method and after refinancing, they put the cash they pulled out towards another property. I also understand that with the money they are cash flowing through rent gets put into a savings account for future issues such as new roof, HVAC, A/C, etc. So if these options are just going towards the portfolio, when do they pay themselves? Thanks for any insight you may give!

I don't do BRRR, I do long term rentals and buy and hold. Any cash flow goes in my bank account, but also remember the tenants are paying down our mortgages for us.
