Requirements to join an MLS

I'm looking at the membership options for the Miami Realtors MLS and all the options say you need to be active in a firm. Is this normal?

I want to take the Florida real estate exam so I can access the Miami Realtors MLS data for myself but I do not want to become a realtor/agent for others. Not sure if this is possible.

@Serafin Achurra No. Your license is not active until you place it with a Broker. That is the Only way you can join the MLS.
