Rental Investing Mentor?

I live in the DFW area and I am looking to get into real estate investing. Trying to find a mentor that is not a grifter has been daunting. Looking for a mentor to help me through the process a bit to minimize any big financial mistakes.

The grifter mentors exist online. There are some good mentor options online but my experience with 1:1 mentorships has always been through local connections. If you find a mentor the old fashioned way, they aren't going to be a grifter or have ulterior motives.

Just keep putting yourself out there and tell EVERYBODY in town what you are looking to do. Your goal should be to find one of the OG investors in your area. Somebody who is 60+ years old, they've been doing it 30+ years, and they are ready to pay it forward to a younger version of themselves.
