Hello Everyone,


looking for lessons learned or must haves when shopping for home owners insurance on rental properties.  Currently in the process of buying a duplex and want to make sure I’m well insured for the unpredictable:) thank you all in advance

I would make sure that the liability portion is at least $1,000,000. I would also make sure that the actual replacement value of your property is covered. Many policies will undervalue the actual replacement cost of the property.
