Newbie Investor in the SW Chicago Suburbs Looking for Advice!

Hi BP Community, this is my first post and excited to connect with all you amazing people!

I've made that big decision to jump into the Real Estate investment pool and am trying to gather as much information, knowledge and advice from more experienced folks (which at this point is everyone) regarding the local markets. What neighborhoods still have great opportunity, what type of strategies have you employed, are there realtors/lenders you are especially happy with, what is your favorite ice cream, it's all open for discussion! That last one won't really help my investigation, but I'm a curious person by nature!

Thanks in advance!

@Eddie Chen

Welcome to the forums! Different neighborhoods present different opportunities so it depends on what you're looking for specifically. For example, Chicago has a lot of 2-4 unit inventory but some neighborhoods have a higher % of their building stock and some neighborhoods are much more affordable/feasible to make the numbers work.

Personally I'm a big fan of house hacking since it's a great strategy, especially for entry level investors.
