Starting out in multifamily ownership

Hi,  

I am a veteran and I'd like to use my VA loan to buy a multifamily property. I live in SF Bay area buy its way to expensive in my area. I am looking to relocate to a state that is idea for my loan situation

 Congrats for getting into the investing life.  It sounds like you need to figure out what you're looking for in terms of life.  From there you'll be able to find what you're looking for.  I'd start with lifestyle/family and narrow down states from there.  Look into tax laws as that could be huge down the road should you decide to move out of the multi and rent the whole thing out.  From there the BP community can really help you out.
