Greetings,

Newbie Dyryl Burnett here! I'm strongly desiring to do my first deal as a owner occupied "buy and hold" in Chicago, IL. I know the value and understand the needs for "comps" for a certain block or neighborhood, but I have no idea of how to get comps at all. I have not landed on any place in particular, but I have time before I return back to work to learn about it! I desire to rehab the mystery property (really looking at REOs), IF NEED BE, but really want to learn how that process works.

Could someone please help me out! Much gratitude!

It's much easier with access to the MLS, but you can find some decent comps on sites like Zillow. Just, for the love of God, don't use the Zestimate.
