Can You Put a Lien on Your Own Property?

was wondering if you could answer a question for me?????? Can someone put a lean on their own property? I bought a property several years ago with a partner and now he is trying to take my share of the property and equity away from me. I have been trying to find someone who can answer this for me but have not found anyone that can. Thank You for your time....
