Hey everybody, my name is Taylor and I am working full time for the Military. I am currently stationed at Pope AFB in Fayetteville, NC and am trying to get into real estate. I have always thought about it and have been reading non-stop about all the dos and donts. I do not have much money to start out with, but I am currently looking for cash buyers, rehabbers, real estate agents, and all the other positions involved in real estate in the local area to network with. I would like to start out as a wholesaler first, and work my way up to flipping houses and buying and holding rentals.
Welcome to BP. Fayetteville is a good rental market. Go to the REI meetings. You can find them on meetup.com. There might be more novice investors than experienced ones, but it's worth a try.
Read the forums and listen to the podcasts. Also, check out the podcasts on buysellfixflip.com.
Thanks for the info and the help.
Welcome to BP solider. Start reading everything and find out what area of real estate you want to invest in. Attend your local REIA and network. Ask around the base and see if any other servicemen are investors. Listen to the podcast during PT. Each duty station buy a home.
Thanks for the tips. I just recently bought my first house, but will continue to buy as I move.
Welcome! Fayetteville is a decent market. They have a good sized local REIA you may be able to meet people at as well.
Thanks Alexander. I will head to the REIA as soon as I am back in town.
