Building Capital

Hello Fellow BP Community,

I am a new to real estate investing and wondering in addition to building education, how do you get started? Particularly, how do you build up your capital to gain enough to invest into an initial deal and others? Do you think you need a certain amount of capital to start?

As a backdrop my goal is to get to buy and hold rentals and wholesaling; later work up to flips.  Some say wholesaling works and others say, don't go that route starting out.

What do you suggest? Sharing your personal experiences are welcomed too :)

Welcome @Tyisha G.!  Yes, we need capital to get started.  Even if we catch that rare no money down for you deal, we still need reserves and make ready money.

I lived like no one else would for a while to get started.  Scorched earth.  Christmas is a craft.  Beater cars. Brewed my own coffee and brown bagged my lunch.  Didn't enter a restaurant, mall or convenience store unless it was to go to my 3rd job.  Work and save. Change your life.  Glad to have you!
