Private lenders from Facebook

I'm in quite a few real estate groups on Facebook and see a few people who seem like they're throwing private money at you to get started in real estate investing. I'm new to real estate but I'm learning constantly everyday. I don't want to go the wholesale route. My plan is to find a really good deal, present it to a private lender, and we both make money together. My question is, has anyone tried any of these private investors from Facebook? Have your experiences been good ones? Let me know. Thanks BP!
