The Never Ending Replacement of Blinds

I have learned so much over the past few months with rentals. My fiancé has 10 properties, and I have four. However, I really am a newbie since I purchased my first two rental in March.

What I don't understand is the blinds. It never fails that we are constantly replacing blinds. It just seems like there has got to be a better alternative to those cheap vinyl/plastic blinds that break if you look at them. Contractors break them; renters break them, and I swear they break on their own. I wish there was an alternative such as the old aluminum blinds that we used to use--I was young, so I might be wrong in that they weren't as much of a headache.

I am looking for a cost-effective alternative to the cheap blinds that we have in all of our rentals--ones that would last through a few tenants. Any suggestions?

I have a colleague who puts up curtain rods and that’s it. Supply your own curtains.

Personally I use a couple online retailers and go 2” faux wood. They get heavy when they get wide though, sometimes I split them
