Should I buy multifamily for first investment

Hi my name is DeVille, I live in the DFW area in Texas. I have been in Texas for 10 years. I see rents are going up and I rather pay mortage than someone else mortage. I'm just getting started, I am looking for quadplex or 4 plex to hack, I will be using a FHA loan to finance it. Any advice
