Newbie in the world of Real Estate and investment

Im a 19 year old from Miami working a part time and studying an accountant major in college. For the last year Ive tried to get into the world of investment. However, I havent been able to find the push or education that I need to start on this.

Im considering joining the $1000 program of Kris Krohn for a startup, but i wanted to see what the users of this website got to say. 

I have little knowledge about Real Estate. Just wanted to see if I could get some words on what I should be doing to achieve my goals in this.
