50k house v 75k Condo

I have not bought any real estate  at all, I am still on the fence. I am on the fence about which one would be better, a 50k house that is in a not so great neighborhood, where I'm sure I can talk the price down. I'm not sure the work it needs vs a 75k condo that is apartment style where you have neighbors above and on the side of you, it is on a bottom floor. It was recently updated with new flooring, appliances, painting, etc. My question  is would the 50k house be worth getting and fixing up until I reach 75k, which is the price of the condo, although it is not in a great neighborhood. Compared to the condo which would be "move in" ready.
