Does a HELOC affect your property Taxs
Does applying for a heloc affect your property Taxs in California? The reason I ask is because purchase price was $345,000 cash and about a year later after rehab value is around $500,000. After they appraise the home when applying for a heloc will the new value be reported to the county tax assessor for an increase in property taxes? Thanks in advance

@Chris Thompson It will have no effect. (I’ve gotten HELOCs on multiple properties.) The appraisal is for the lender, not the tax assessor. Plus Prop 13 places limits on how much your property taxes can be increased without a change in ownership.
