Are bussiness cards helpful for investors starting out

Hello BP.I was wondering if anyone uses business cards from a pure real estate investment or “We buy houses” standpoint. And more specifically, as a new investor has anyone found it fruitful to use business cards to hand out or use when networking and dealing with property managers, contractors, brokers, etc.?

For example I ended up having a conversation with someone I happened to meet at a local restaurant and he mentioned he was looking at getting into some real estate investing in the future in our area as he had been doing so in Florida in the past.It was a good conversation and great to meet someone else looking to do something I’d like to do as well in this market. He ended up having to leave abruptly as his friends had arrived. So we shook hands and said “see you around”After he left I was thinking it would have been great to be able to hand him a card with my contact information on it and some sort of message that shows I’m and investor.

I’m just curious if anyone uses them for times like this and if so, has it been worth it and what do you have on your card?

Thanks

Jason

@Jason Favero - Yes I believe you should have business cards for your networking as it adds a level of professionalism.  However, getting biz cards should be a 1-2 hour task and not a hindrance for you to make purchase.  My advise is to not over-think it or let it stop you from your current progress.

Go on Vista Print and find an outline and color scheme that works with your brand and your website (or desired future website).  If you don't have a design you can post an ad on Craigslist and get a freelancer to do this for you for $50-$100 if you give them a rough idea.  You can then get 500 cards for like $10-$20.   If you want to have one branded for netowkring/private investors and one branded for consumers/ "we buy homes" go for it.

Bottom-line yes you should have a biz card but don't let it be a distraction or dependency to the bigger goals you have.
