From a high level - people love talking to someone who is engaged and genuinely interested. If you're brand new and looking to learn, ask detailed questions about their most recent investment, their first investment, what they're looking for next, what they need in their business, things like that.
Dale Carnegie's stuff might be old, but it's still true and useful at a basic level.
