Looking for a Licensed Contractor

Hey Everyone,

I am finding it hard to get a licensed contractor. According to the hard money lenders I need a licensed contractor in order to be eligible for a loan. From what I understand this person gives a quote to the lender of the needed repairs and cost to go with it. Is this an accurate understanding? Also if any one else had this problem, How where you able to get past it?
