Creating leads as a new investor

I’m new to real estate and am currently looking for my first deal (duplex in Western Ma).

I am struggling to find leads that have not been on the market sitting on Zillow, Realtor.com, etc for months. I have spread the word to friends and family that I am searching for my first deal to begin building my brand in this space, but this hasn’t yet yielded any leads (possibly due to my lack of track record and proven ability to close).

I’m hoping, based on experience, someone may be able to provide some advice on lead generation strategies to a person with minimal industry contacts - where’s a good place to start outside of listing sites?
