Offer calculators offer recommendation

Running numbers on these offer calculators are working out to be super low, how is anyone getting anything bought? I've been using the wholesale calculator to check my offer with 0 profit on wholesale, it just seems to low, no one will entertain it, or we will look like a joke... Is this correct and just not the right area... Or a trick I'm missing...
