Is Silicon Valley a bad place to invest?

I live in Silicon Valley and the prices, around me, for single family homes are usually $1.5M+. I'm not sure if I'm doing the analysis incorrectly, but if I put a down payment of 20% and get a loan for the rest, the mortgage alone, seems to be much more then the max I can charge per month.

@Trang Nguyen If you are looking for cash flowing rentals you are likely better investing out of state. You could try house hacking at least there but straight rentals likely want to look elsewhere.
