Hello everyone, I am someone looking to begin his real estate journey, and I have been doing a lot of research on house hacking; however, this pandemic happened, so what strategies or advice can anyone give that I, and newbies like me, can use in order to take a step in the right direction.

@Chrisford Fausta the pandemic won't stop you from investing! We have dozens of clients who are still buying properties despite the ongoing lock down in Chicago. I would recommend that you start to get to focus in on the neighborhoods you are interested in. In addition, start reading up on how to calculate your numbers. We are lucky to be in such a great city for house hacking as there are many neighborhoods and suburbs that make sense for investing here. You also will want to start to build your team (realtor, lender, attorney, inspector, contractors, etc).

You might want to check out the new Chicago specific podcast that @Mark Ainley started. It has a tone of great neighborhood level data.
