That's an easy one. It's long distance running. You take step after step after step never really feeling like your getting anywhere or going to make it. Then you look back afterwards and think "damn that was alot of steps and doubts, but the reward was worth those long hard steps"

I would have to go with football. Each day in the life of a real estate investor is like one down in a football game. I think it was @Brandon Turner in the podcast recently that used this analogy and said to try and just move the ball 3 yards down the field each day. If you do that, there is no way you could lose! But, if you are not focused and stay stagnant for a period of time, you might get blindsided by life. For analogy purposes, I would picture Ray Lewis coming off the corner to viciously sack the QB.

@Amy Miller, Thanks for posting a fun question! It's BASEBALL! Sometimes you get home runs that make you lots of money, sometimes you get a bunt or are walked with average deals, and sometimes you do strike out and lose money or have to walk away! I always tell people, who are upset about not finding the killer deals-- you don't win a game with every hit being a home run, sometimes it's okay to get a single or a double, just as long as you get on base!

Mixed martial arts ("MMA"). You need to have a variety of tools in your toolkit to get the job done. You can "win" by using all of your skills, or 1 particular skill very well. You often get punched in the face and need to keep your composure and stay in the fight. Continuous training/knowledge gathering is critical to your success. Be able to leverage your team for optimal performance (coach, sparring partners, nutritionist, agent, etc).

Investing isn’t a real sport... so... golf? 😂

running a marathon. 26.2 miles or a 30 year mortgage: both feel like forever.

I would go with cycling (multi day tours). To those who don't know much about it, they just think it's an individual sport and whomever is the most fit and can ride the fastest the longest wins. But those involved realize it's all about the strength of the team to propel the leader forward over the course of the race. Individual riders can dominate a stage or 2, but having a strong team around you will allow you to be the most successful over the long haul. Real estate is a team sport and the stronger your network of high quality people the higher your potential for success. Also, if you can find a way to use other people's blood (or for RE: money) you can go even faster. Ha!
