Back taxes owed on Property

So I'm planning to put this property in PA Allegheny County under contract but I need to find out how much is owed in the taxes. I've tried the tax assessors office but the owner claims there's way more owed on the property. Does anyone know a way I can find out exactly all that's owed on a property?

You usually don't know for sure until the title search comes back and that process doesn't usually start until dye tests etc are complete. You could put in your contract that your offer includes up to $x in unpaid taxes and if anything more then that comes back it is the owner's responsibility to pay.

Best of luck!
