Hi Everyone! I'm just starting out in my REI journey and have already seen quite a few articles and posts where some people have a real estate license and some don't. Do you think it's a must have to get started out (maybe because you can find better deals via MLS or because it helps you understand the ins and outs more, etc) or did you find that it was a deterrent? Or maybe it makes no difference?

IMO there is just one question to answer to decided if you should get your Real Estate license or not.

Do you want to become a full time Realtor?

If yes: Get your license
If no: Don't get your license

A good realtor is way more important and valuable than trying to be your own realtor while being a real estate investor and (most likely) working a full time job as you build your portfolio. 

@Jon Reed thanks! That’s a great litmus test. I have not intentions of being a realtor since I do plan on keeping my full time job
