I AM MOVING OUT OF MY HOME STATE, SHOULD I BUY BEFORE I MOVE?

I am considering buying a house in my home state (which is Pennsylvania) living in it for about a year and upgrading it (not sure how much the upgrade is going to be, I don’t even have the house yet! But it will probably be at least $10k-20k), and then after that, move to my preferred state of residence (TEXAS) and renting it out (never been a landlord or rental property owner before), and then settle down there.I cannot ask my family really what they recommend because my mom is very supportive, but doesn’t quite understand my goals and ideas, or FI. And my dad lives in Texas, and insists that I DO NOT “move twice” and instead should just move straight down to Texas (I have NOT EVEN CONSIDERED telling him that instead of renting in PA, I am planning on buying a house before I move then rent it out - he would have a heart attack, he really doesn’t understand). What should I do? Does this make any sense?
