Jobs that teach relevant real estate investing skills

This may be more of an odd ball question. I remember reading in Rich Dad Poor Dad; Robert gave a tip saying to work a job not for the money, but for the experience. 

So my question is: Are there any hourly jobs that come to mind, that would help someone obtain skills and knowledge relevant to real estate investing? 

Becoming a real estate agent comes to mind, though I'm looking for something a bit more outside of the box.
