Would I be able to get an FHA loan if I would only live in a property 2-3 months out of the year. It would be my primary residence in the States but I live overseas right now for 9-10 months of the year for my basketball career.
Hey Andrew! You would have to make this your primary residence. Which means you wouldn't be able to rent an additional apartment, you can't rent your room/unit, and you can't AirBnB it for a full 12 months. It has been known for the local HUD to do check-ins on FHA loans. Play this one safe! *not legal advice
Should definitely talk with a pro (lender, for example), but I don't believe you can. Even though it may be your actual home in the States, to be qualified as a "primary residence", you would have to live in it for the majority of the year. *Also not legal advice!
