Getting started in western NC

Posted

I am ready to get serious about starting to build my real estate portfolio. I am currently a homeowner, with a full time job, that I am reasonably happy with. I have one rental....a camper that is rented to a family member.

I want to get my real estate license. For both the benefits of access, and cost, as well as the knowledge gained.

I am in Western North Carolina. So, I understand that I am required to work under a broker for my probationary license to be valid. My questions are:

Do I have a broker lined up already to take the class and test?.....should I?

Is it reasonable to keep my full time job, and work under a local broker?

I'd like to hear about other people's experiences, and advice regarding this path.
